Thomas Magedanz –Professor at TU Berlin / Fraunhofer FOKUS, Germany

Thomas Magedanz is full professor in the electrical engineering and computer sciences faculty at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany. There he is leading the chair for Next Generation Networks and educating masters and PhD students in the fields of multimedia Service Delivery Platform technologies on top of converging fixed and mobile networks, Next Generation Networks, and the Future Internet.

In addition, he is director of the “Next Generation Network Infrastructures” division of the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS, where he is responsible for the performance of major international R&D co-operations and related projects in the context of next generation telecommunications infrastructures and emerging Smart City ICT infrastructures. In this context he is a globally recognized pioneer of the development and provision of advanced technology testbeds and related software toolkits for both academia and industry. Examples include the famous IMS Playground as well as the Future Seamless Communications (FUSECO) Playground, based on OpenIMS, OpenEPC, OpenMTC and OpenSDNCore toolkits. His recent passion goes into the development of the globally first 5G core network toolkit and related testbed.

In 2006, Prof. Magedanz has been assigned as Extraordinary Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Since 2011 he is also visiting professor at the Universidad de Chile in Santiago de Chile. In the course of his research activities he published more than 300 technical papers/articles. In addition, Prof. Magedanz is senior member of the IEEE, and editorial board member of several journals.

He received his diploma and his Ph.D. in computer sciences from the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, in 1988 and 1993, respectively. In 2000 he finished his postdoctoral lecture qualification in Applied Computer Sciences at the Technische Universität Berlin.








Joddy Hernady Group Head of Innovation and Design Center, Telkom Group Indonesia

Joddy was appointed to his position in June 2012. He is responsible for technology assessment, network and infrastructure engineering and planning. In addition, he is also responsible to manage innovation in new business ecosystems for TELKOM Group including idea/customer validation, new product development, product validation and desaining new business models.

Before that, he was Executive General Manager of Multimedia Division, responsible for developing new products and solutions, managing financial services in remittance and electronic money, integrating contents for TELKOM’s Group and operating the platform. Prior to that, he was the Vice President for Corporate Strategic Planning, responsible for developing the corporate strategy for the TELKOM’s Group. Currently, he also sits as a commisionner in PT. Multimedia Nusantara, a TELKOM’s subsidiary, holding company for the area of information, media and entertainment businesses.

Joddy began his carrer in TELKOM in December 1993 as a researcher in the area of optical fibre access at TELKOM’s Research and Development Center for 1 year.

He holds a Bachelor degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia, Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California, Los Angeles USA,  and International Diploma in Advanced Leadership (IDAL) from Executive Center for Global Leadership, Jakarta – Accredited by Erasmus Rotterdam School of Management.
